Hello. My name is Ellen Eubanks and I am beginning my 4th year at DISD. I am an alternative education instructor at DeKalb High School. I also coach middle school volleyball and high school softball.
DeKalb is my home; I was born and raised here. My parents were both school teachers for DISD; and like me, my four children graduated from DeKalb High School.
Previously, I spent eight years teaching and coaching softball at Northeast Texas Community College in Mt Pleasant, TX. Then I went into the insurance business where I worked for five years before coming to work at DISD in 2013.
All three of my daughters are school teachers; Cassie teaches first grade at Hubbard. She and her husband, Bill, have four children. Jessica teaches and coaches at DeKalb along with her husband, Cody. They have four children. Deana teaches and coaches in Splendora, TX, just outside of Houston. My son, Drew, is an anesthesiology assistant. He and his wife, Ashlea, live in Conroe with their new baby, Henry.
I attend Maranatha Christian Church in DeKalb where I volunteer as a sound tech for our Praise and Worship team. I also help with special events that involve our children.
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and being outside working and playing.
