
The ESL
students have started off this year with lots of newly learned skills.
The Pre
Kinder students have concepts such as rote counting, color and shape
recognition knowledge. They are developing
their oral proficiency in English and Speech.
Social skills are developing at an even pace.
The Kindergarten
class has acquired phonics skills that have made them good beginning
readers. They’re using their eyes to see
the letters of the word, their mouth to sound out the letters, their ears to
hear the sounds of the letters to decode their words, and using their brains to
absorb their learning. They are using
their blending skills to decode words.
They are learning word families such as am, at, et…They have
built a sight word vocabulary to enhance their reading and writing skills.
