Chelsea Baker, Kendra Hamilton, Blaze Johnson and Timothy Rainer (pictured at the bottom) advanced to the Texas State Vivsual Scholastic Event (VASE). Blaze Johnson, received a State Gold Medal. Our students who advanced to State were able to view all of the artwork including their own and participate in are workshops at the University of Houston, clear Lake. Statewide more than 17,500 students participated in the 20 Regional VASE events. There were 1764 state qualifiers and only 35 from our Region went to State. VASE was established to recognize Exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. It has only been in existence for about 13 years Statewide and we have participated each year.
