First Grade

What We’re Doing!

Reading: We are using the Voyager Reading Program. Our theme in first grade is SEACASTLES. Our minimum reading fluency goal for the end of the year is 60 words per minute for every student. Another new component of our reading program is Ticket To Read which is a computer base program designed to improve fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. Math: We are excited about our new math program enVisionMath . The program consists of 20 topics with groups of lessons that focus on related TEKS. Some of our math focal points will be comparing and ordering numbers, addition and subtraction, patterns, place value, money, fractional parts, geometry, measurement and time.
