I attend workshops year round to better develop my teaching skills.
This is my fourth year at DISD. I love this town, this school, and these kids! I always say “If I’d have known I would like it so much, I would have gotten here sooner!”
I began my teaching career in 2006 at Liberty-Eylau Prekindergarten Center. I taught at LE for 7 years, teaching both three-year-olds and four-year-olds.
I took two years off to stay home with my youngest son. When he started prek at DeKalb, so did I!
I have been happily married for 16 years. My husband and I have two sons, both of which attend DeKalb schools. We have five (yes 5) pets: 3 cats and 2 guinea pigs. The guinea pigs live in my classroom during the school year so that my students are able to watch animals in their habitat.
My family loves to spend time together camping, watching movies, and playing anywhere there is water.
I am an avid reader, when I am not having to read a textbook. I also love to watch movies. Marvel movies and scary movies are my favorites! I am a certified SCUBA diver. I love to be anywhere near the water. I love going to the beach, going to the lake, canoeing on rivers, and fishing on ponds. I also love cooking as long as I don’t have to clean the kitchen afterwards. I love to go to the gym, but I have a hard time finding time right now.
