PARENT’S RIGHT TO KNOW

Parent’s have the right to know the following:

NURSES & COUNSELORS – Each campus at DISD has a certified full-time counselor. The district employs one licensed nurse and one nurse’s assistant to serve all campuses.

REQUEST PHYSICAL FITNESS ASSESSMENT – A parent/guardian has the right to request a copy of your child’s physical fitness assessment if one is required for your child’s grade level. To do so, contact the campus office.

REQUIRED STATE ASSESSMENTS BY GRADE –  

PK4 – CIRCLE assessment (Beginning and end of year)

Kindergarten – Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment (BOY with literacy screener, MOY, and EOY), Universal Dyslexia screening at EOY

1st Grade – Dyslexia screening (BOY), Texas Primary Reading Inventory (BOY, MOY, EOY)

2nd Grade – Texas Primary Reading Inventory (BOY, MOY, EOY)

3rd Grade - STAAR math, STAAR reading, FitnessGram (once annually)

4th Grade - STAAR math, STAAR reading, FitnessGram (once annually)

*BOY- beginning-of-year   MOY- middle-of-year    EOY- end-of-year
